HOUSTON—Buffaloe Floors ended the year by saying “Thank you” to its customers as the company celebrated its 60th year in business. Customers, designers, vendors, employees and their families recently came together to celebrate the company’s milestone. The flagship showroom on Richmond Ave in Houston, TX was converted into a party space filled with food, music, balloons and plenty of stories about Buffaloe Floors over the decades.
“Buffaloe Floors was founded in 1965 by Glenn Buffaloe,” said Alfred Soyyar, the current owner of Buffaloe Floors. “When Mr. Buffaloe started the business, it initially started out as a carpet cleaning business. One day, one of Mr. Buffaloe's customers asked if he could install carpet. He, of course, said yes, and Buffaloe Floors was born.”
“The company started with humble beginnings, but from there, it kept moving forward and expanding,” said Soyyar.
Today, Buffaloe Floors sells and installs all types of flooring from carpet, vinyl, laminate, wood, tile and counter tops. The company does both residential and large-scale commercial projects and was recently awarded a contract to renovate an entire Houston area apartment complex with vinyl, tile and quartz countertops. Buffaloe Floors is now a multi-million-dollar business that consistently gets an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and various industry awards.
Kurt Kristynik, the current president of Buffaloe Floors, presented a gift to Glenn Buffaloe’s daughters, Denie Lunsmann and Renie Kristynik, framed copies of the invoices showing the very first carpet order made by Buffaloe Floors in 1971.
“The party was a great,” said Soyyar. “It is that kind of support and loyalty that have made our company a success. I’m looking forward to Buffaloe Floors serving Texas for the next 60 years.”
